About Amy Barley

I am passionate about my chosen career of Landscape Architecture and have a particular interest in conservation. I believe that we should work around nature and enhance it where possible, increasing biodiversity and doing as much as we can to protect our planet. Through my studies, I have gained necessary digital communication skills in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, SketchUp and QGIS. I have also developed an ability to create strong concepts to take through to designing great places for people. I have completed a range of projects from small public parks to urban regeneration schemes. I also have a sound knowledge of landscape planning, and how to put together a Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment for a project. I have a wider interest in horticulture which assists my studies. I regularly volunteer at a local hospice as part of their Gardening team and in 2019 I spent a month working at a Croft in Scotland, learning about self-sufficiency and taking in the beautiful scenery.
