About Amy Bonner

In my current position I develop and provide therapeutic recreation services for 44 clients with co-occuring disorders who are participating in a 28-day inpatient rehabilitation program. Day-to-day responsibilities include all facets of individual assessment of client recreational/leisure needs in early recovery, researching and implementing a full array of resources and activities best suited to the specific needs of each client, supervising daily activities, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team and members of Risk Management, reviewing progress notes to implement or redirect a client’s recreational plan, and generally ensuring that the activities delivered are conducive to promoting sustainable growth and quality outcomes. Other responsibilities include supervision of clients in the milieu setting while overseeing daily activities and performing crisis management as needed. I am inspired by my clients on a daily basis. I am additionally pleased to work for a facility that is the only in the country to take in members of the deaf community and that they have supported my becoming proficient in American Sign Language(ASL)
