About Amy Carruthers

From working for Nando’s in two different sites, I am confident in managing stores of both higher and low volume sales and I’m able to flex my management style to benefit both. The busier store I managed could average 37-40k weekly. The lower volume sales site averaged between 19-23k. This has made me a proactive manager who is capable of identifying key areas for business growth when you can’t depend on high sales. During my time with Nando’s I am privileged enough to gain four promotions,developing to a staff trainer,supervisor and then 2nd and 1st assistant manager. Having achieved this I understand the value of internal promotion within business. It has enabled me to lead by example to motivate our team.Nando’s place people management at the forefront of their company values and in doing so I pride myself on being able to balance both being a boss, a leader and a friend. Having a lot of freedom within the business with things such as marketing, recruitment and training have allowed me to realise that the fundamentals of business is having a well trained, motivated staff team. I have been able to pick up many transferable skills during my time as a manager at Nando’s, such as knowledge of P&L and how to maximise savings, as well as learning when to flex budgets and knowing when to take calculated risks or when to play it safe. The length of service at Nando’s, I believe, proves me to be a reliable addition to your management team as I am a driven, loyal individual who brings a lot of integrity to her work.
