About Amy Daugherty

I hold a Master’s degree in Education Administration from East Central University and will complete my PhD in Education with an emphasis in Social Emotional Learning through Northcentral University in the fall of 2022. I currently serve as an administrator for Oklahoma City Public Schools and have for the last eight years. I was principal for three years at Lee Elementary prior to serving as an assistant principal for Taft Middle School. I have experience in the classroom as a special education teacher for students with significant behavior issues. I worked as the State Director of Assessment and Data for the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE), Special Education Services. I feel that my prior experience as an elementary principal and the OSDE has prepared me to be an effective leader for Curriculum Associates. At OSDE, I served as a member of numerous committees including TLE, Common Core, A-F grading system, and developed and oversaw committees for Special Education. I have experience as a supervisor of staff and multiple projects. During my time at OSDE, I had the privilege of assisting in the writing and the development of statewide assessment. Additionally, I have experience presenting to a board, providing trainings to administrators, teachers and parents, and collecting/analyzing data for program evaluation and development. My role as an administrator has given me the opportunity to identify the academic needs of our students and provide instructional leadership for my staff. My resume illustrates specific examples of prior leadership and administrative duties. My evaluations have always noted my strengths as being creative, a problem solver, demonstrating strong long-range planning, and the ability to communicate with a diverse population. I enjoy the challenges of education, working with teachers, parents, and students, and the opportunities to make education a positive experience.
