About Amy Dieringer

I lead with curiosity, care, and a deep appreciation for the messy, beautiful business of being human at work. As Vice President of Operations at Heifer Foundation, I steward the infrastructure behind our mission—everything from HR and governance to the systems and relationships that keep us not just running, but thriving. My work lives at the intersection of culture, logistics, and leadership. I’ve guided teams through executive transitions, compensation equity work, and those “we should probably write that policy down” moments. I’ve helped strengthen board governance and—when the world went remote in 2020—digitized decades of files that had been quietly thriving in our storage closets. Before this, I served in roles that braided together executive support, board liaison work, and HR strategy—while being the go-to person for unsticking stuck systems and bringing levity to tough rooms.(A well-timed laugh can do wonders.) I hold a degree in Psychology, with a minor in Urban Studies and Sociology—a pivot I made during the 2008 recession, just a few credits shy of a Studio Art degree. I’d started college on a violin scholarship, and while I once thought my path would be artistic, I chose instead to focus on helping people live their best lives—however and wherever I could. That creative, human-centered lens still shapes how I lead, connect, and build. I’m also Dare to Lead™ Trained, with certifications from Cornell in HR, governance, analytics, and DEI—tools I use to build brave, functional workplaces where people feel seen, supported, and capable of doing great things. And outside of all that? I’m a parent to two inspiring humans and a lifelong artist at heart—because how we build matters just as much as what we build.
