About Amy Donovan

With a passion for storytelling that began when I accidentally landed my first job at a local newspaper the summer I graduated high school, I’ve spent my life uncovering and celebrating the human experience. My career started with a journalism degree and took me across Canada, working in various industries, always with a focus on connecting with people and sharing their unique stories. Today, I channel that storytelling passion into photography, specializing in two areas close to my heart: empowering women through boudoir photography and helping small businesses thrive through branding photography. In boudoir photography, I create transformative experiences where women can embrace their confidence, reconnect with themselves, and redefine their self-image. As a body image advocate, I strive to challenge societal norms, celebrate diversity, and help women see the beauty and strength they carry within. In branding photography, I partner with entrepreneurs to showcase the big personalities behind their small businesses. I work closely with my clients to create authentic, eye-catching visuals that tell the story of their brand, connect with their audience, and set them apart in today’s competitive market. Whether it’s a personal brand or a local business, my goal is to highlight the passion and individuality that make each one unique. When I’m not behind the camera, I’m an active volunteer with the Paradise Lions Club, supporting initiatives like Ronald McDonald House and local school breakfast programs. Based in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, I’m honored to share my journey through podcast and radio show invitations and would love to help share your story too. I live in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, with my partner of over 20 years, my 16-year-old daughter, and a vibrant family that includes my granddaughter and two grown stepchildren.
