About Amy Dowdey

With over 9 years of experience as a licensed clinical social worker, I am passionate about providing quality mental health care to diverse populations. I have a strong background in cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, family systems, eclectic, and EMDR approaches, and I am certified by the EMDR International Association. I currently work as a Clinical Therapist at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where I support the mission and vision of the healthcare system and the department of psychiatry. In my current role, I provide individual therapy for patients within the healthcare system, using evidence-based interventions and assessments. I also collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, nurses, case managers, and peer specialists, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care. I leverage my skills in treatment planning, crisis management, documentation, and ethical practice to deliver patient-centered and trauma-informed services. I am committed to continuous learning and professional development, and I seek feedback and supervision to enhance my practice.
