About Amy Dukovcic

From childhood days helping my grandparents organize their "heart pills" to reviving a lagging cardiovascular service line, my passion to help others has grown into working with organizations to drive their ability to provide high quality, cost-efficient patient care. I am a Senior Healthcare Leader dedicated to improving patient and financial outcomes within Cardiac Service lines of business. Colleagues know me for leading change, creating and managing quality processes, and motivating teams. I create long-range plans, deliver dramatic changes in quality outcomes, and drive revenue enhancement programs. Successes include: STRUCTURAL HEART PROGRAM / TAVR (350-Bed Acute Care): As Cardiac Department Consultant, developed service line expansion plan with addendums on considerations for Structural Heart Program focused on high quality and good volume for aortic valve replacements enabling future introduction of tightly regulated TAVR. Initial phases of expansion plan have been implemented. VOLUME INCREASES (Washington Adventist Hospital): Built relationships with local physicians and showcased top performance in cardiac quality metrics driving increase in procedure volume of 1.5% year-over-year for 5 years, turning around lagging cardiac volume trend. CLINICAL PERFORMANCE METRICS (Washington Adventist Hospital): Launched performance programs and drove 5% decrease in bleeding complications post PCI, 25% decrease in superficial sternal wound infections, 10% decrease in acute kidney injury, and 10% increase in PCI cases deemed "appropriate." Achieved 100% compliance on AMI core measures and STS 3 Star Rating in 4 out of 6 reporting periods. STRUCTURAL HEART PROGRAM (Washington Adventist Hospital): Initiated/led introduction of Structural Heart Program in capitated reimbursement environment, maintaining competitive position in DC Metro area and adding to volume increases. SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENT AWARD (American College of Cardiology MD Chapter): Received 2019 "Special Achievement Award" for providing health policy and legislative leadership in drafting/passage of House Bill 942/Senate Bill 0733 regarding Cardiovascular Invasive Specialists legislation.
