About Amy Eisman
After a terrific 25-year career in mainstream media, I've been a journalism professor at AU since 2002, teaching writing, reporting, entrepreneurship and ethics. I've run several programs, most recently as Director of the Journalism Division (2018-2023). I also ran the Writing Programs, the weekend MA program then called Interactive Journalismand the MA in Media Entrepreneurship, as well as co-facilitated a grant on gaming and journalism. I've been a Fulbright lecturer in Moscow; the chair of ONA's MJ Bear Fellowship committee, honoring digital journalists under 30; a judge for the White House Correspondents' Association; and a member of the task force reviewing PBS editorial standards and practices. I also consult and offer training in digital writing domestically and globally. I've been very fortunate to have a few marvelous career paths in my professional life, which used to be detailed below.
