I help businesses avoid litigation by providing guidance that seeks to minimize the risk. When a dispute arises, my approach is to listen first-understand the legal and business problem Then I work with the client to put the issue in commercial context and develop a plan for resolution that meets the business goals, without litigation, if possible. I employ early case assessment to help the client understand the risk and possible outcomes to make an informed business decision about how to proceed. Should litigation ensue, I help refocus how you tackle the risk of litigation. Before diving into the case, I take time to develop the right plan, to do the right work, to assign the right resources and use the right tools to efficiently reach the right result for the client. As a proud nerd (first career in IT), I look to use legal technology strategically to help manage and reduce costs. I can help your business navigate litigation. I practice in Texas state and federal courts and other jurisdictions. I litigate and arbitrate commercial disputes, including oil and gas disputes, for clients of all sizes. And I have access to my partners who I can bring in to assist with transactional, employment, finance, restructuring, and bankruptcy matters.
