About Amy Fishburn

My home and professional life has been in the MENA region for nearly 40: teaching for eight years and in higher education administration for 25+ years has been rewarding and there was an interlude of two years as the Human Resource Officer at Citibank Maghreb before returning to higher education. I was hired to launch the Office of International Programs (OIP) of AUI in 1996 which grown to one of the most active international offices in the region working with hundreds of other universities around the world to advance meaningful internationalization to improve educational outcomes for our interconnected globe. Our particular strength was student mobility but our team advanced and supported other units to internationalize and enrich intercultural understanding to meet our university’s mission to "enhance Morocco and engage the world." I was involved on several University committees and boards including the steering committees for strategic planning since 2003, the Community Service Board since 2010, The Hillary Rodham Clinton Women's Empowerment Center, - 2014, and the Association pour le Développement du Moyen Atlas 2012-2017. I enjoyed and was proud to represent AUI as a highly internationalized Moroccan institution of higher education at conferences and among HEI peers at NAFSA, EAIE, ANIE, and APAIE. My service to the international education profession began with an appointment for a two year term to NAFSA's International Education Leadership Knowledge Community 2014-2016 after which I was elected to the Cooperation for Development (C4D) expert community of EAIE for two years. More recently, I was re-elected as board member to ANIE for a two year term. Finally, I served on CCIS's Host Campus Council.
