About Amy Flatt

Amy Flatt designed technology camps and curriculum for the summer, engaged with more than a dozen teachers to teach the 24 camps scheduled, lead Professional Developments for the NTC and through Teacher's Tech on Tap events, and met with students through Raspberry Jams, Career Fairs, and camps. She speaks to parent groups on Digital Safety, Optional Tech Careers for Youth, and Tech Learning Opportunities for young people in Middle Tennessee. She believes strongly in the power of tech to create opportunity and has volunteered time and resources to build Linux labs for use in two MNPS schools and has given 5 computers, which she rebuilt, away to needy students. Amy has been published in TREND magazine May 2015 and blogs for TeachersandCompany.blogspot.com. She has specialized training in Reading Recovery, Graduate Level Mathematics Pedagogy, teaching robotics and teaching and designing coding curriculum for children. Amy has been a guest speaker for PyOhio, The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Harpeth Hall Think Tank and the Tennessee Stem Innovation Summit. She is slated to speak next month at Nashville Women Programmers on Python.
