About Amy Hirsh Schwartz

After completing my residency in Anesthesiology at Emory in 2007, I joined the Emory Faculty. I spent 5 years as the Site Director for Resident Education at Emory Midtown (2012-2017) and still enjoy actively teaching medical students, resident physicians in Anesthesia and Emergency Medicine, and CRNA/AA students. I am the proud recipient of numerous teaching awards. Most of my days are spent in the OR directing anesthetics for general surgery, ENT surgery, orthopaedic surgeries, neuro and spine surgeries, and cardiac electrophysiology surgeries as well as time spent on the Labor and Delivery ward. I'm proud to have served as the lead anesthesiologist for the recent development of the new Complex Head and Neck Cancer Surgery division at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. I was also peer-appointed to the QI committee at Sarasota Memorial, where I serve my colleagues by reviewing cases and helping to make sure we remain at the forefront of excellent patient care. When I'm not busy at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two sons and our crazy yellow lab. We love to travel and spend time outdoors hiking, biking, and boating. I enjoy kayaking, cooking and baking. I have a healthy, active lifestyle with an ideal life-work balance. I'm grateful for my family and friends and I'm grateful for the patients in our community who trust me to deliver exceptional care.
