About Amy Johnston
I graduated from Queen’s University Belfast, with a Bachelor of Science, in Human Biology, in July 2020. I started in Randox as an Extraction Technician in October 2025 during the Covid-19 pandemic. This gave me my first glimpse into a high throughput molecular lab setting which ultimately peaked my curiosity in the molecular field. In September 2022 I joined the Molecular R&D team in Randox as a Research Scientist; working on the development of high multiplex diagnostic assays, and in particular, the integration of these assays onto automated platforms.In June 2025, I was promoted to the Technical Lead for the Molecular R&D department; now not only do I support all Molecular teams in the development of novel assays, but also support the training, health and safety, regulations and organisation within the department
