About Amy Katterns

I am a dynamic, strategic senior professional with more than 14 years’ experience supporting impactful programs and projects across the public and private sector for innovative organisations. I’m known as a trusted advisor and critical thinker, working in partnership with executives, drawing on analytical, IT, data, program management and governance skills to successfully guide cross functional change. Currently, as Senior Strategy Advisor at Payments NZ, I play a leading role to understand the evolving future of payments through advising on the Payments Direction programme. Providing senior strategic and project support, I work closely with stakeholders including industry to identify needs and gather insights to help steer the future direction of payments in Aotearoa. Prior, as Team Leader, Program Governance at Eke Panuku Development Auckland, I led at team of program and governance coordinators to support the successful roll out of projects across the programmes of the urban regeneration portfolio for Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. I was also part of the leadership program, E Tū, Hautū, sharing ideas, successes and losses and co-managed a Community of Practice – a monthly forum that organized speakers to share best practice, skills and lessons learnt. I am a passionate supporter of equality, especially in payments and an advocate for more women in the industry to make sure all voices are heard as we modernize the payments system and ensure it is future fit for generations.
