About Amy Kirk
During twenty plus years in planning (both policy and consents), I have worked for territorial local authorities, national / government agencies and private organisations, consultancies and companies both within New Zealand and overseas. My role at Triple Star Management is centred around the early client and consultant engagement we promote through our innovative and all-inclusive approach to construction. Essentially, we offer a ‘one-stop-shop’ where we manage a construction project from concept through to completion. As well as having a close-knit management team, we also have around forty highly skilled site-based staff. We get involved early in the planning and setup of our projects and then actually get these projects out of the ground and build our clients dream home or commercial project. Our experienced management team (including project managers, construction managers, quantity surveyors and a land surveyor) add value early on in a project lifecycle by assessing the feasibility of a project from a consent, cost, and timeframe perspective. Our site-based construction team are also able to provide our clients with early feedback on the ‘buildability’ of their project including ideas for reducing cost and time and based on our extensive portfolio of commercial and residential projects. Within this process, I focus on painting a clear and realistic picture of any relevant site restrictions and what approvals and consents will be required. I then engage and manage the necessary consultants to best meet these approval and consenting requirements in a timely manner. Throughout the later stages of our projects, I monitor the compliance with any necessary approvals and consents and then manage the code of compliance process as well as close out documentation (Operational & Maintenance Manuals etc). I was born in Queenstown (in the ‘Bungy Backpackers’ only recently demolished!) and since returning from overseas have worked here for almost 12 years. I consider my local upbringing and knowledge and diverse experience of working closely with local Councils, consultants and contractors to be one of my main strengths. When I am not working, I enjoy travel and the outdoors with my husband and our two boys. Despite consistently being the family “tail end Charlie”, I love our missions exploring the outdoors both locally and further afield, whether we are hiking, mountain biking, snow skiing, snowboarding or water skiing. I also spend a fair bit of time on the sidelines of various sports fields.
