About Amy Mack
A cultural anthropologist by training, I now work in the fields of critical far-right studies and preventing and countering violent extremism (P/CVE). My current work focuses on the processes and motivators that drive far-right radicalization in rural communities, particularly amongst women and young people. Given my anthropological training, I am also interested in the possibilities of community-driven intervention models that respond to local cultural contexts. I am also a co-founder of the Canadian Institute for Far-Right Studies (CIFRS) where I act as Co-Director of Research. In addition to overseeing the collaborative research and writing projects, I also manage CIFRS fellowship program, which emphasizes the need for mentorship and training for the next generation of far-right and P/CVE scholars and practitioners.
