In Toronto in the past ten years, I have- Directed My Main Street, a Fed Dev program to revitalize inclusive main street communities across Southern Ontario, allocating some $12 million to 65 cities and towns - Obtained and managed a $10 million grant from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada to deliver enhanced Canadian Citizenship ceremonies across the country and to expand Canoo, an app that connects new citizens with arts and culture opportunities nationwide - Managed Diversity and Inclusion strategy for the successful Advanced manufacturing supercluster, obtaining $250 million in federal funding - Co-founded Civic Hall Toronto, a Government Tech hub bringing together government practitioners with start-ups to create solutions for livable cities - Founded the first Entrepreneurship Hub at George Brown College, offering funding, mentorship, training and support to hundreds of student entrepreneurs, and advocating to support international students in particular.
