Background
About Amy Paz
My whole life I have always wanted to be someone who can help others. I believe that acts of kindness, the greatest illustration of compassion, and the time taken to help those in need is the best gift a person can give to others. Hi! I'm Amy and I am here to help those in need. When I was in high school, I had started volunteering at my local church to take care of children for parents in the church club. In the beginning, I had no idea what I was getting myself into: rowdy, screaming, and mischievous kids running around in a building where parents would drop them off for teens and one or two adults to take care of them. Seemed like a lot to handle for a 15 year old teen. However, after much time spent observing the children and adult's in their behavior I realized how interesting and fascinating the human mind and behavior is. Building relationships with those around me and helping families and friends who needed it during difficult times made me feel happy and pleased to give to others. You could say my willingness to be around people and to show compassion and love when it is needed helped me realize that I wanted to be of service to the community. The curiosity and tenacity to learn more about the human function moved me to look into careers of how we work and process. I began doing research into what career options I can choose from in the civil service, that would help me accomplish my dream as well as bring relief to those in need. That was when I learned about psychology. I fell in love with it, the chance to learn more about the behaviors of others and to understand the human mind helped me not just understand those around me but even helped me improve on myself as well. I have spent the last several years utilizing my diverse background (A volunteer student graduate who worked in church and non-profit organizations and who has a knack for communication and a large dose of empathy) to meet the needs of those around me and learn more through the experiences I have achieved and hope to continue achieving throughout my career.
