About Amy S.

As a Manager of Research at Capital One, I led a team of two researchers and define the research agenda for a large group of designers. I have many years of experience in user research, user experience design, interaction design, and information architecture, spanning various domains and industries. My mission is to understand problems and users deeply, and to envision better futures for them. I plan, facilitate, synthesize, and analyze research with customers and non-customers, using remote and in-person tools and techniques. I also mentor designers in research methods and facilitate ideation and synthesis workshops with cross-functional partners. I am a certified Design Thinking instructor and a problem space research practitioner. I collaborate closely with product, design, market research and UX research teams, and advocate for research across the organization.
