About Amy Schwartz

More than one colleague has described me as the glue that holds things together. In my most recent position as Director of Event Operations, I managed a team of sales managers, AV technicians, event stewards, set-up staff, and event coordinators, and along with our internal and external clients, we planned and executed events a year. I’m passionate about customer service and understand its importance in the work we do. I strive to create an atmosphere of professionalism so our clients have nothing to worry about except how much their attendees are enjoying their event. That is achieved through careful planning, attention to detail, and a consistent approach to our work. Communication is the key, and I have worked to create and put processes in place to foster communication between our department and the rest of the organization as well as our department and the vendors supporting our work. We could not do what we do without our partners in housekeeping, parking, security, and AV, and I have worked hard to cultivate these relationships so we can put our best foot forward. Consistency is important to me, which is why I spearheaded a documentation process for our team to create a standard operating procedure book to assist our sales and operations teams. I’ve also created and delivered training documents on how to input data into our scheduling software- Manage the expense budget with a team that brought in over 1 million in sales revenue in FY19- Manage a team of 8 sales and operations staff implementing over events in FY19- Lead weekly meetings with employees and partners across the organization to communicate calendar and logistic details.Expertise: Event planning; Reserve/Infor software; Socialtables; project manager
