About Amy Soper

I am currently the Stewardship Director for Androscoggin Land Trust. Before joining the ALT team, I worked as the Courtesy Boat Inspection and Stewardship programs director for 7 Lakes Alliance. I was responsible for managing conservation properties in the Belgrade watershed including the Kennebec Highlands and was also involved with water quality protection. I have a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Policy and Management and in 2017, I earned her Master’s degree in Sustainable Natural Resource Management from Unity College. Through my graduate program, I worked on a project with the Maine DEP that focused on how supportive the public is on combating the issue of aquatic invasive plant species. I participate in several agencies' conservation focused steering and review committees and am on local land trust board. I also worked as an intervention teacher. I worked on several projects with my students to help them understand their environmental impact and worked on ways to reduce their footprint. I am actively involved in my family's logging business and have been since I was a young child. It has given me a clear understanding the importance of protecting our natural resources. Sustaining Maine’s landscape has been a goal of mine long before starting her career in conservation. I grew up in central Maine and is where I am raising my two very busy boys. Being someone that enjoys all that Maine have to offer, I spend a great deal of my free time in the great Northern woods. I am fortunate to have an amazing opportunity to not only to do what I love but to be able to continue to protect Maine's natural areas.
