About Amy Stoch

I am a professional actress with over 40 years experience in films, television, commercials, and on stage; most notably the Bill and Ted feature films as well as Dallas, Days of Our Lives, and the recent Streamy Award winning series-Mr. Student Body President. I also hold a PhD in Theatre History, Theory, and Criticism from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champain and am an active scholar/writer. I'm currently working on a book detailing the directing career of noted theatre theorist, Herbert Blau, as well as scripts for a web series and a feature film. I am a full time faculty member at AMDA College for the Performing Arts in Los Angeles with specialties in Information Literacy/Dramaturgy, 19th C. American Theatre, Restoration Comedy, Women Writers of Theatre and Literature, and Acting for the Camera. I'm a member of The Road Theatre Company in North Hollywood whose mission is to explore and promote new works of theatre like Bruce Graham's heady play-White Guy on the Bus-in which I created the role of Roz. I have directed many stage productions from large cast musicals to 2-person ensemble pieces and was Company Manager of the Champaign Urbana Theatre Company. My current project/dream is to create an experimental arts space where artists of all genres, backgrounds, and experiences can come and share their talents in a safe, supportive space. My experiences have taught me a great deal but I feel there is so much more I can and want to do as an artist, scholar, and actively engaged member of my community. My mission is to educate, create, and involve the public in the arts. My hope is to continue to grow as an artist and scholar and to inspire others to think of the arts—whatever their association with them—as full of discovery and infinite rewards.
