Farmweek is a weekly TV Agricultural Newscast on RFD-TV (Satellite) Dish & Direct: Fridays at 5:00 pm Mississippi Public Broadcasting: Saturdays at 6:30 pm & Mondays at 6:00 am Those are CENTRAL TIMES. My job involves: Search for pertinent news topics, schedule dates & interviews to cover the story, shoot video (Sony EX3 Camera, similar to XD Cam), conduct interviews, load video to editing program, select comments from interviews (soundbites), write story script, record audio narration from the script, edit that, combine it with the selected soundbites, add video (aka - b-roll) adjust background sounds and audio levels. I also co-anchor in the absence of Leighton Spann or Artis Ford. For Farm & Family radio programs, I search for news-worthy topics and conduct interviews with personnel or specialists who can expand on those topics for our listeners. After recording interviews, I edit the spots down to 5 minutes in length. These segments cover anything related to Family Resource Management, Nutrition, Food Safety, Forestry, Animal & Dairy Science, Genetic Research, Wildlife Management, Livestock, Crop Management, etc. For Southern Garden radio programs, Gary Bachman records his audio narration on any subject related to gardening, fertilizer management, lawn care, garden trends, etc. To watch Farmweek, go to For Farm & Family or Southern Gardening, go to and look toward the bottom right section of the screen! I am also getting into photography. I just bought a Nikon D5100, and I LOVE IT! One of my favorite pass-times is capturing photos of God's beautiful creations.
