About Amy Thompson

I have always loved numbers. I even took math classes in college that I didn’t need to graduate! While spending many years working and supervising as a veterinary technician (animals were my first love), numbers were always there – medical calculations, inventory counting, controlled drug monitoring, and even measurements for procedures. Later, as I supervised teams of vet techs, inventory maintenance included accounting procedures and timecard monitoring was always a numbers game. It only made sense that as I moved away from the physically demanding field of veterinary medicine, I gravitated towards more numbers. I am excited to be well on my way to a career transformation into the accounting and payroll fields. I gained 5 years’ experience working as an Operations Manager where I not only learned important management skills, but also worked with a lot of production numbers, projections, and salary budgets. I have spent several years working more closely with time management software and am currently working in accounting, payroll, and HR acquiring more experience in my foundation of accounting. I hope to continue moving forward in my new career, to a point where I can use not only my accounting and payroll skills, but my leadership skills as well, in an organization that values its employees and provides a fun and collaborative work environment.
