About Amy Wallis

I am a qualified occupational therapist, and co-founder with experience in private practice, higher education, business development and digital health solutions. I am a co-director at Selsus, specialising in supportive cancer care helping people to live well with and beyond cancer. Selsus is an Australia wide health service accessed online and in-person. I also currently works as a lecturer at Edith Cowan University in the Occupational Therapy Department, teaching and researching in the areas of physical rehabilitation and health management (management of chronic conditions/palliative care/self-management). In the past I was co-director of the Allied Education Group until 2022, an occupational therapy cancer specific education and client service (RTW). I have worked clinically as both a junior and senior therapist in neuromuscular health care, chronic conditions, pain management and in corporate health. My experience provided me with a broad knowledge base from which to embark on my research journey into the areas of supportive cancer care and occupational roles, chronic pain, and palliative care. I completed my PhD in the area of adolescent and young adult cancer care, and I have multiple peer reviewed publications. I am also a reviewer for multiple national and international peer-reviewed journals. Additionally, I am a skilled research supervisor in both undergraduate and post-graduate supervision. I have strong skills in communication, presentation, facilitation and hands on therapy skills. I am passionate about education and learning, and enhancing the research profile of the occupational therapy community with a strong focus on cancer. I am also a mum to two gorgeous kids, a wife, a lover of yoga and Peleton classes and a keen AFL fan!
