About Amy West

Incorporating public relations and marketing tactics, Amy excels at finding creative and innovative solutions to business challenges, drawing on her knowledge and experience in media relations, digital marketing, content development, crisis communications and social media. Prior to joining Wood, Amy was an Account Supervisor, Marketing Communications at Pierpont Communications, where she drove the daily account interaction with her clients, supporting their overarching business blueprint with integrated communications campaigns. Her work at Pierpont spanned industries, as she partnered with clients in financial and professional services, retail, energy, oil and gas, technology and manufacturing. Some of her former clients include Walmart, Offshore Technology Conference, Verizon Wireless, LyondellBasell and Reliant, an NRG company. Amy was also a team lead for the Pierpont marketing, internship and externship programs. Amy served on the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Houston Board for four years, holding numerous leadership roles with the organization over the years, including Southwest District Conference Chair, Secretary, Excalibur Awards Gala Chair, Young Professionals Committee Chair and Social Media Committee Chair. She is a member and active volunteer at West End Church in Houston and has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County and the Houston Food Bank. She was named the Young Public Relations Professional of the Year by PRSA Houston in 2016 and honored by the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce with a Volunteer Star Award in 2015. Amy graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science degree in public relations and minor in business.
