About Amy Williamson

Amy has recently completed postgraduate study at Deakin University in the Graduate Certificate of Human Nutrition, with the goal of exploring the social, cultural and economic aspects of nutrition and public health. Amy has also commenced a Master of Teaching in secondary schooling to further her impact, specialising in teaching Business & Economics, Humanities & Social Sciences and Middle School Mathematics. She hopes to play a part in making a positive change, improving the education and financial outcomes of future generations. In 2023, Amy commenced as a Shareholder Policy Advisor in the Shareholder Policy and Markets Branch within the Department of Treasury and Finance, Tasmania. She assisted in the provision of advice to the Government on the operation and strategic direction of government businesses, projects and issues. Amy also contributed to providing policy advice and preparing correspondence in respect of the Government's role as a shareholder of Government businesses. Previously, Amy worked as an analyst in the Deloitte Risk Advisory business unit, engaging in local internal audit, risk management and controls engagements for government departments, listed companies and private enterprises. Project exposure includes in the government, energy and financial services industries which allowed her to gain a broad range of risk management and controls identification skills. She also has experience in workshop facilitation for a large Tasmanian consulting client, giving her the opportunity to establish and maintain positive client and colleague relationships. Amy's role at Deloitte involved analysing business processes and controls to optimise risk mitigation and compliance, through highly detailed testing methods learnt throughout her role with Deloitte.
