Hello! I'm Ana, a Cosmetics Scientist based in sunny Barcelona, Spain. I have a Degree in Biology and over 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and personal care industries across Latin America, the EU, and the UK market. As a Biologist with 9 years of experience in the Cosmetics industry, I’ve developed a strong understanding of cosmetic products development, pre-clinical and clinical research expertise, and how to support product development effectively from concept to launch, focused on science-based claims for a scientific communication strategy to meet regulatory compliance before they reach consumers. My scientific background and international experience in the cosmetics industry have allowed me to adapt to diverse markets and understand their impact of cultures on business strategies and consumer trends. This professional journey has enabled me to connect with a broad professional network and continuously learn about our global cosmetics market. I specialize in dermocosmetic research (in vitro, ex vivo, and clinical trials) throughout the entire product lifecycle, from conception to launch for both active ingredients and finished products, working closely with cross-functional teams (R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Toxicologist, Commercial and Marketing) to ensure product safety, efficacy, and claims substantiation in compliance with cosmetics regulations and achieve impactful results translating scientific results to marketing. As a Scientist, I'm interested in the latest advances in cosmetic science, especially in the field of skin biology and sustainable beauty. I enjoy learning new biotechnologies and researching the latest cosmetic trends and global cosmetics insights. Bilingual in Spanish and English, with a basic level of Portuguese and Catalan.
