About Ana Tomic

My name is Ana Tomic and I have been welding for over 6 years and have professional welding experience with over a year in a production environment. I have also competed in welding competitions winning 8th place in regional, 2nd place in regional, and then 5th place in the state for SkillsUSA Washington. Among that, I have also won 1st place in Community Service Presentation in Washington State Regional and State and 21st in the nation at the National Leadership and Skills Conference 2013 for SkillsUSA. My goals for the future are to continue pursuing TIG welding as my career and grow in the industry. Currently, I am a Welder at SAFEboats international and have done everything from fuel tanks, to finish welds, to consoles and hard points, etc. this career has taken me up and down the state and my journey isn't finished yet. I would love to go back to school, get my welding certifications, possibly join the military, and eventually - hopefully - become a CWI. I'm only 21, I've got a bit of time. In short, I love what I do and hope to continue it for as long as possible. I want to have experiences, I want to learn, and I want to grow as a female welder in the industry and not be doubted based on my size, my look, or my gender. I am capable of just as much as anyone else - and if i'm not, then I will be.
