I am a healthcare compliance professional with over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry. I currently serve as a Compliance Auditor with one of the most respected and rapidly expanding healthcare systems in Northeast Georgia. In my role, I am responsible for closely monitoring and interpreting evolving healthcare regulations, laws, and policies to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of the organization's compliance program. Key responsibilities include- Conducting bi-annual risk assessments for physician practices to proactively identify and mitigate compliance risks- Collaborating on the development and implementation of corrective action plans in response to audit findings, risk assessments, and other compliance-related concerns- Coordinating with legal counsel, internal auditors, and external regulatory bodies when necessary to address complex compliance issues- Partnering with senior leadership, the legal department, and other internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on compliance strategies and initiatives- Preparing and presenting metric reports to the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and senior management to drive informed decision-making- Leading one-on-one provider education sessions focused on documentation guidelines and audit results to promote best practices and enhance compliance awareness.
