About Anand Ramkumar

Coming from a non-IT (Mechanical Engineering graduate) background, change has been the only constant in life for me, and adapting to it has been the name of the game.In my overall IT experience, I have been fortunate enough to be able to actively pursue two of my passions outside of professional life (Travelling and learning new languages/cultures) and have worked across multiple locations, and with a variety of different people. My journey in the world of IT began in September, 2014, when TCS provided me with an opportunity to reconnect with my motherland by assigning me to Trivandrum for the ILP (Initial Learning Program). The ILP (On Mainframes), although challenging, was quite immersive and engaing, and was conducted for 3 months, after which I was re-assigned to my home city of Kolkata.Post ILP, there was another change, as I got introduced to the SAP world from December, 2014 and have been deeply engrossed in it ever since.I worked in Kolkata (Offshore location) for a just a year, after which I got deputed to Montevideo, Uruguay (Nearshore location) to support the Canadian client I was working for. Moving here was a huge culture shock (Due to the language barrier), but over time I adapted by developing some level of proficiency in basic Spanish. Overall, I spent almost 1.5 years here (Until August, 2017), and my time here taught me to work under pressure, and allowed me to work side by side with the client to gain important experience and further develop my skillset. On a personal level, it helped mould me as an individual by putting me ouside my comfort zone - as it was the first time away from India and family. After my time in South America, I returned to Kolkata, and worked from here for a further 1.5 years until January, 2019, when I was deputed to Canada to work for the same client from onsite location. I have been in Canada ever since, looking to expand my personal and professional horizons - transitioned from temporary residence, to work permit, then permanent residency and finally obtained my Canadian citizenship on March 26th, 2024!From a technical standpoint, my area of expertise lies in SAP Basis, BPA, SLT, HANA, Redwood RMJ, AWS and Active Batch administration. I have advanced proficiency in Service Now, JIRA, HPSM, MS Office,Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The operating systems I am familiar with are AIX, Linux and Windows. Please do check out my "Experience" field for additional details on my technical skiils/achievements over the years, and thanks for taking the time to visit my profile.
