About Ananda Plate

I’m a cancer survivor and patient advocate with over a decade of experience in the field of patient advocacy. My expertise spans cross-border healthcare, NGO governance, patient evidence, and the role of compliance in patient engagement. As a consultant at Patvocates, I focus on bridging the gap in patient engagement. Our role is to ensure that the needs and wants of the patient community are meaningfully integrated into decision-making processes, providing valuable returns on engagement for both sides. I am particularly passionate about understanding the unmet needs of patient communities. This includes eliciting patient preferences, identifying barriers in patients' daily lives, measuring quality of life during and after treatment, and finding accurate ways to generate patient evidence within and outside of clinical trials to inform healthcare decisions. One of the achievements I'm most proud of during my time as CEO of Myeloma Patients Europe was the creation of the Evidence Generation Unit, which continues to enable the myeloma patient community to systematically influence decision-making processes with robust evidence on their needs and wants.
