About Anandu Sivan

I’ve been a designer for almost 10 years now, working for different companies and doing numerous interviews. I usually break down my design process into three steps: Research, Exploration, and Iteration.In the Research phase, I focus on internal and external research, which includes studying existing patterns within the company and analyzing how competitors in the same industry solve similar design problems. This can be as granular as choosing fonts, colors, and the overall look and feel.Next is the Exploration phase, where I create different variations of the design and review them with stakeholders, such as the marketing director, marketing lead, or senior designer. This collaboration ensures alignment with the company’s vision.Finally, in the Iteration phase, I review the options and come to a conclusion based on feedback. This process allows me to balance creativity with functionality while meeting deadlines.I enjoy geeking out during the Exploration step, diving into mood boards, sketches, fonts, colors, shapes, and layouts to solve design problems. I believe this approach demonstrates my understanding of the high-level process while effectively working with cross-functional teams.
