About Anastasios Bairaktaris

As a recent M.Sc. in Data Mining and Analysis graduate with a specialization in Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing, I am passionate about leveraging my skills to help solve real-world problems. During my time as a Laboratory Teaching Assistant at Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH), I was responsible for designing, implementing, and providing support for the C++ course assignments, using Python's pandas for automatic evaluation. My experience in database design and full-stack development, gained during my BEng & MEng in Electrical and Computer Engineering at DUTH, has given me a solid foundation in MySQL database design, implementation, and administration. I am proud to have participated in SemEval 2020 and 2019, where I ranked 10th and 16th respectively out of a large pool of participants in the Detection of Propaganda Techniques in News Articles Subtask 2 - Technique Classification and Fact Checking in Community Question Answering Forums Subtask A - Question Classification. My programming skills include Python and MySQL, and I am proficient in various frameworks, such as scikit-learn, pandas, spaCy, BERT, Pytorch, Keras, and Tensorflow. I have hands-on experience with development tools such as Jupiter, MySQL Workbench, and Wordpress. As a native Greek speaker with Michigan Proficiency E.C.P.E certification in English, I am comfortable working in a multicultural environment. I am excited to apply my skills and experience to new challenges in the field of data analysis and machine learning.
