About Anastasios Fritzelas
I am a passionate choral and artistic director with a lifelong dedication to music. My journey began in my school years as a clarinet and brass player in the Philharmonic Orchestra of Chalkida. I studied music theory (Advanced Harmony, Counterpoint, Fugue) at Marsyas Conservatory and seminary trained in choral conducting under the late Antonis Kontogeorgiou. Since 2012, I have founded and led several prominent choral groups in Chalkida, including the Chalkis Polyphonic Choir and the historic 1936 Chalkis Choir, where I serve as chief conductor. In 2023, I founded the vocal ensemble “Phaos,” a dynamic and flexible group created in collaboration with the Vocal Lab Chalkis. I have directed, organized, and participated in numerous concerts, festivals, and competitions, and arranged a wide repertoire for mixed and equal-voice choirs.
