About Anders Pedersen

I am an enthusiastic and dedicated student, passionate about advancing maritime safety and operations. Currently, I am pursuing a postgraduate diploma as a Marine Chief Engineer and Master Mariner at the Svendborg International Maritime Academy (SIMAC). With a robust foundation in maritime operations, navigation, and safety, I have developed a comprehensive skill set through both hands-on experience and academic excellence.When opportunities arise, I work as a relieving officer, leading deck activities to ensure safe navigation and efficient operations. Previously, as a dual cadet at DFDS, I honed my competencies in ship navigation and operations with a strong focus on teamwork and risk assessment, contributing significantly to our vessel's operational excellence.In addition to my maritime experience, I serve as the tutor coordinator at SIMAC, where I manage the tutoring program and foster relationships with faculty and students. My previous roles as a teaching assistant and tutor further developed my instructional skills and ability to provide constructive feedback.I hold a bachelor's degree in Maritime Transport and Ship Management, from which I gained expertise in the ISM Code, maritime safety, project management, leadership, and technical proficiencies in navigation and seamanship, maritime operations, and communication, amongst others. Additionally, I trained as an ordinary seaman at Svendborg Søfartsskole, where I was honored with the Diligence Award from Maskinmestrenes Forening.Actively involved in professional organizations, I serve as a representative and treasurer for the Maritime Student Council (MSU) at SIMAC, and as a former board member and chairman of the Gerlev Student Association.I participated in the IMO project "MARPOL at 50 – Our commitment goes on" during the IAMU Student Forum '23, where I discussed key maritime environmental topics and developed strategies and solutions with other representatives from around the world.Looking ahead, I am committed to leveraging my skills and experience to contribute to the maritime industry, with a particular focus on enhancing safety and operational efficiency.
