About Andi Soetemans

With a background in social work, psychology, and sociology, I have spent years supporting oppressed individuals and families through some of their toughest moments. From direct crisis intervention work to program development and research, my journey has been guided by a deep-seated commitment to equity and empowerment across micro, mezzo, and macro arenas. With the combination of lived experience and theoretical knowledge obtained from a BSW degree, I am equipped to support diverse populations in any setting. As an advocate, I move through my work with the goal of holding the microphone for those who have previously been silenced or misunderstood, uplifting marginalized voices. I am a strong proponent of a trauma-informed, person-centred approach grounded in values of equality, inclusion, and anti-oppressive practice. As an employee, I value open and honest communication, ethical practice, and team collaboration. I offer optimism, critical thinking, and reliability to all work environments. I enter all spaces with a dedication to lifelong learning and a humble acknowledgement of my social location and positionality.
