About Andinet Woldemichael

I have over ten years of experience in economic policy research across various issues, working in academia, Think-Tank, and international development finance institutions. I have several peer-reviewed publications and working papers on various topics, including education, health, labor market, and development economics. As a Principal Research Economist at the Research Department of the African Development Bank, I contribute to preparing several strategy papers and flagship publications, including the African Economic Outlook, Op-eds, and policy briefs, as well as high-level advisory and policy dialogue, including the preparation of talking points and briefing notes for senior management. I supervise junior staff and consultants and task manage several research projects and policy advisor activities. In addition, I have extensive experience conducting rigorous econometric analysis, including traditional macroeconomic and survey datasets, claims databases, and ‘big data’ such as satellite and Google search data. I have expert-level skills in state-of-the-art programming languages and Statistical software in MATLAB, Stata, R, Python, EViews, and GIS Spatial data analysis. Moreover, have excellent organizational, research, oral presentation, written, and graphic presentation skills.
