About Andra Ioanas

My journey began with a love for algorithmic thinking and programming, which naturally led me to pursue a degree in Computer Engineering. But as I grew in the field, I realized that the aspects of programming I was most drawn to—creating seamless experiences, intuitive interfaces, and solving for real user needs—were rooted in UX. I hadn’t realized then that this was its own discipline. Transitioning from engineering to UX/UI design felt like a logical evolution, solidified through hands-on experience and a Graphic Design Master’s program. Today, I proudly consider myself a seasoned UX/UI designer with senior level experience. Over the past few years, I’ve thrived as a freelancer, tackling diverse projects that range from intricate digital products to comprehensive branding initiatives. This breadth of experience has shaped my ability to adapt, innovate, and deliver across a variety of contexts. What truly drives me is collaboration—whether it’s partnering with multidisciplinary teams, engaging clients and stakeholders in co-creation workshops, or diving into user research and testing. People are at the heart of every great design, and connecting with them fuels my best work. Right now, my focus is on elevating my expertise in a critical yet often-overlooked stage of UX: problem definition through deep user research and insight generation. I believe that uncovering the why behind the what is the key to designing meaningful, impactful solutions.
