About Andre B. Toussaint

I have a decade of combined preclinical and clinical experience dedicated to understanding drug use/abuse, addiction, and related chronic pain disorders. Currently, I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Zuckerman Mind Brain Behavior Institute at Columbia University. Broadly, I am interested in the interplay between genetic predisposition to chronic pain and opioid abuse vulnerability. Throughout my academic career, I have gained extensive experience conducting collaborative research, teaching and mentoring students, securing internal and external funding, and presenting academic research to a wider audience. While my current focus lies in reward and pain processing, my expertise extends to a variety of areas within psychology and neuroscience. I am open to exploring diverse avenues where my expertise can be applied.
