About Andre Becklas

I'm Brazilian and I have German Citizenship. I've been interested in programming since I was a little boy and I started to learn programming at the age of 14, at that time in DBase. At 15 I sold my first Clipper system. And from then on I continued to learn various languages ​​and work on developing systems for small businesses. In the early I was hired by a consultancy and started my journey in the area of ​​data analysis. There I developed systems with a focus on information management. I wanted to work in a large company so I joined Banco do Brasil in 2002, but I only managed to go to the bank's technology area in 2005, going to work in the Business Intelligence area. The bank was starting to build the data warehouse, so I was able to participate from the start. In this area I went through all the roles: requirements gathering, relational and dimensional modeling, ETL and construction of reports and panels. For a long time I worked in the technical leadership of the team, architecting and building several BI projects. In 2013 I took over the management of the team and started BB's web analytics project. We were able to put into production a tool completely free of charge in a robust environment such as the bank. I was in the position of manager for 5 years. It was during this period that I started to study data science. I returned to being an analyst in 2018 already working in the field of data science and artificial intelligence. Today I am part of Banco do Brasil's artificial intelligence team, assisting teams in building predictive models using agile methodology. Currently I program in several languages ​​and paradigms. I know Clipper, Visual Basic and VBA, C ++, ASP, the entire.NET environment, HTML, Javascript, PHP, Java, NodeJS, Python, R, React and React-Native and many development frameworks.
