About Andre Brown

Born in Singapore and raised in Chicago, I have been fortunate to live a unique and international life thus far. A proud graduate of the College of Business at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, I completed a Bachelors of Science in Marketing and Management with a concentration in International Business. In tandem with my experiences at ESCP Paris and living in Shanghai, I credit my background and upbringing for my ability to successfully navigate the global marketplace. With no prior exposure to the entertainment industry and no job offers to my name, I uprooted my life to move from Chicago to Los Angeles in pursuit of a career in film talent representation. Three great years later, I have proudly worked at two of the premier talent agencies, albeit with a career in the music industry instead. I developed a strong foundation in the live music touring space but recognized that it was time to evolve. The experience I gained in the entertainment industry put the wind in my sails as I embarked on a new journey with the World Surf League. Fast forward almost three years and I’ve had the opportunity to touch every corner of the sport. Initially, it was telling stories and growing interest in surfing by developing and executing the league’s content strategy. Now, I manage over 8 global events across the league’s Americas and Africa regions. My role knows no limits as I liaise with vendors, internal departments and external brand partners to produce world class events in professional surfing.
