As a Digital Marketing pioneer navigating the High-Tech Wild West, I pride myself in embracing new platforms, creating engaging digital campaigns that inspires and connects with an audience on an emotional and holistic level – and being adaptable in an industry that is in a continual state of flux. Little did I know that studying film in Los Angeles, being a columnist and lifestyle writer in Hong Kong for the likes of The Asian Wall Street Journal, Asia Tatler and Asia Spa – and working as a director and scriptwriter in Hollywood (California) and Bollywood (Mumbai) – would groom me for multiple roles in the Digital Marketing world. The stars truly aligned when I ran my own media business in Melbourne, and started helping small businesses promote their products, services and personal brands. I feel privileged to have been invited as a Guest Speaker on Personal Branding for RMIT University's Executive MBA program, and on Social Media with a focus on Paid and Organic Digital Marketing for Photography Studies College. There is something very special about sharing your knowledge and experiences with an eager like-minded audience. I absolutely love connecting with people via different social media platforms (YouTube, Tik Tok, SnapChat, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook) and in person, and making customers feel valued and inspired by a product or service. I'm naturally curious about the personas we target, and discovering how they digest content and best to reach them. I find creating a sense of community and inclusivity, for a diverse range of followers and super fans, one of the most rewarding aspects of my job. I also really enjoy analysing the data of a campaign – and looking into the behaviour flow of a specific demographic on Google Analytics. I believe data should always drive the strategy. Collaborating with a creative team but also members who work in different departments is another motivating and invigorating part of my work life. In summary, I love what I do and continually learn something new everyday – and that all the skills I have accumulated up to this point – can be fully utilised in the Digital Marketing, Strategy and Content spheres.
