About Andre Frederick

My experience and skill, in a professional environment, enables me to work in new settings with little or no training. I have worked for the past eight years through Network for a Healthy California, where I supervised multiple programs in the health field. With the Network, I have spent most of my time working with the East Los Angeles’ Latino community in Monterey Park, Montebello, and Pico Rivera, providing workshops and hosting trainings, including Re-Think your Drink and Toolbox for Community Educators. After spending eight years working for a grant funded non-profit nutrition program, Network for a Healthy California, I have sufficient experience creating and working within budgets, as well as conducting, analyzing, and reporting Impact Evaluations and Needs Assessments in order to establish how the intervention programs need to be improved. I have hired, trained, and supervised 6 employees to work in various programs. Throughout the years working with this organization, I was able to develop a partnership with the Montebello Unified School District where, with the help of the President of the School Board as well as other teachers, we initiated a yearly presence with teen pregnancy and development classes; coupled with a regional annual workshop fair in the school district. Also, I have worked in many settings where I have used several diverse skills including: coordinating and implementing innovative nutrition and physical activity programs; developing school gardens; leading trainings and workshops for community members, students, parents, faculty, and food service administrators; and completing reports for District and State audits. I have recruited participants for many programs as well as hired and trained employees. I have worked in elementary schools, community colleges, hospitals, senior centers, Head Starts, as well as for various other programs. For this reason, I believe I would be a beneficial candidate to your work environment.
