About Andre Mendes

Andre Mendes (aka Deco) is a seasoned expert in Strategy and Organizational Development whose accomplished career as a corporate executive in both marketing and general management span over 25 years overseeing different Latin America countries. He is a former President of Johnson & Johnson. Since September 2022, Deco has been actively involved in multiple boards of directors, angel investment communities, and business acceleration advisories, leveraging his results-driven approach, strategic mindset, exceptional grasp of P&L dynamics and complex decision-making scenarios. In such capacity, his focus has been in accelerating business performance through strategic planning and organization design. Deco started his career as a Marketing Trainee at Johnson & Johnson Brazil where he had a stellar career for 27 years, raising through the ranks, holding various marketing, innovation and general management roles of increasingly responsibility including Head of Strategy & Innovation. He left J&J after holding the prestigious role of President for Johnson & Johnson in Brazil, which stood as the fourth largest J&J business unit globally, where he had full p&L responsibility, managed a team of over 600 employees and oversaw the development of iconic health & beauty brands such as Neutrogena®, Sundown®, Johnson's Baby®, Listerine®, Cotonetes®, and Sempre Livre®. During that period, Deco also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the three sectors under the Johnson & Johnson group in Brazil (Janssen Pharma, J&J Med Tech, and J&J Consumer Health), spearheading initiatives and strategies concerning reputation, ESG and D&I across sectors. Throughout his career, Deco has exhibited transparency, ownership, and inclusion as core values, which have shaped his vision for building impactful and sustainable businesses based on meaningful purpose and engaged talent, whether in his role as a business advisor, board member, or executive leader.
