I've spent the last 12 years on rigs, offshore and onshore, supervising workover, well intervention and completion operations across Africa. Today I lead 350Klbs HWU campaigns for Perenco in the DRC, and I'm preparing my next move: a senior supervisor role in the UAE or GCC.What I love about this job is how unforgiving it is. A workover is rarely about doing one thing perfectly; it's about anticipating the next ten problems before they happen. That's where I've learned to add the most value.Over the years, my crews have cut NPT by 50 to 60% on our campaigns, not through faster execution, but through patient program reviews and honest conversations with service companies before the rig even moves.Some numbers I'm proud of: Across the wells I've supervised (70 to 85 producing wells, depending on the field), we deliver 8 to 12 major workovers a year with an 85% success rate. The average operation runs 34 days and a USD 1.5–2M budget.The largest job I've handled — a Parker fishing followed by a gravel pack completion, came in on plan. The most technical, a dual completion, came in with zero HSE incident. I work with multicultural crews of 30 to 35 people (Cameroonian, Nigerian, French, Ivorian, Turkish) and 4 to 5 service companies on the same campaign. Getting that many moving parts to pull in the same direction is, honestly, the part I enjoy most.
