About Andre Slabbert

I am an independent director in the Cayman Islands. Member of the Cayman Islands Directors Association and a Registered Director with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority. I work on a wide range of investment funds, crypto/web3 foundations, securitisations and corporate structures. In addition to Director Services, I specialise in Independent Investment Review, Accounting and Liquidation services. More than 16-years’ experience in the financial services industry, working for prominent international financial services providers in the areas of audit and fiduciary. In addition to 6-years as a financial auditor with PKF, during my previous role at Ocorian, I performed and managed the FATCA & CRS compliance and reporting, Economic Substance compliance for corporates, and AML compliance for structured finance SPV’s and investment funds. Further to my fiduciary and compliance expertise, I have extensive experience as a Voluntary Liquidator for Cayman entities. I served years in the role as an independent investment professional, performing Independent Conflict Reviews for Investment Advisors. My final role at Ocorian as an executive, which provided me with invaluable experience with the regulators, internal audits, and sub-committees. I focus on a client focused service model whilst working with large, sophisticated managers and advisors across Europe and the Americas, but he also recognise the nuances of working with smaller managers, who needs a higher touch involvement and guidance to help them navigate and prepare for the ever-changing environment. I am a qualified chartered accountant and a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants and Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants. I hold a l Bachelor of Accounting degree from the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa, a Postgraduate Honours degree in Accounting from the University of South Africa and is an Accredited Director with the Chartered Governance Institute of Canada.
