About Andre Talbot

Enjoyed-endured a 10-year career as a professional football player in the Canadian Football League ('01-'10) achieving numerous successes including Grey Cup Champion and Team Captain. Graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University after a 4-year career as a student-athlete ('97-'01) where I earned 2-time All-Canadian and team MVP honours. After retiring from the rigours of sport competition I co-founded and established the Spirit Loft Movement Centre, a movement and mindfulness-based studio in 2011, in Toronto’s east-end neighbourhood, Leslieville. As a personal trainer and facilitator in the field of movement and athletic development, I have studied with a diverse set of coaches and trainers. I utilize a rich experience and continuing education as to skillfully assess, train and help human beings in the fields of sport-specific performance, movement rehabilitation and optimization for life. As an athlete care and peak performance coach, I have worked hand-in-hand with elite athletes and sports organizations to develop unique mind-body training programs to assist in the development and well-being of athletes in the high-stakes and high-pressure arenas of sports performance. My list of past and current clients includes CFL, NHL, AHL and Olympic athletes. Recently completed a Master’s degree in Theology in Spiritual Care & Psychotherapy at Martin Luther University College/Wilfrid Laurier University. Followed by an internship at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry & Vision Science as part of the counselling staff serving the brain injury and vision loss rehabilitation clinics. I offer a creative, collaborative, and strength-based approach to client care that recognizes the potential for resilience building and positive change.
