Background
About Andre Wald
In 2001, I earned a BS in Mass Communication from Black Hills State University. For nearly six years, I served as the radio production director for Duhamel Broadcasting Enterprises in Rapid City, South Dakota. In this position, my main responsibility was the writing and production of radio ads. I was also involved in the scheduling of radio ads, assigning production to on-air talent, and the supervision of my direct assistant. During my time at Duhamel Broadcasting, I held on-air shifts on KZZI-FM (a mix of new and classic country music) and KOTA-AM (a news/talk format). After moving to New York, I became a part-time, on-air talent at Pine Tree Broadcasting in Poultney, Vermont. Reading the news, weather, and current sports news on the air were a few of my responsibilities. In October 2011, I started my full-time career at Burr and Burton Academy in Manchester, Vermont. I was one of the critical technicians in the iPad one-to-one initiative that was launched in the fall of 2013. I was also in charge of upgrading and troubleshooting faculty MacBooks, maintaining iMacs in student labs throughout campus, and servicing several Windows machines for our business office, cafeteria, and facilities department. Daily duties included monitoring our help desk ticket tracking system, supporting faculty members with technology-related needs in the classroom, and assisting the Technology Director. In August 2018, I transitioned to Green Mountain College in Poultney, Vermont to assist them with their technology needs. My role at Green Mountain College was very similar to that of Burr and Burton Academy with some differences. Most computers at Green Mountain college were Windows-based, but they had a strong desire to infuse macOS and iOS devices into the classroom. Green Mountain College secured a grant to purchase MacBook Pros for faculty, iMacs for a new lab, and iPads for a field classroom. I played a key role in deploying these devices throughout campus. I also maintained several computer labs throughout campus, faculty computers, repaired student computers when necessary, and mentored several students through the campus-wide "student worker" program. Sadly, Green Mountain College closed its doors at the end of the 218-2019 academic year. Armed with the experience of helping people of various ages with Macs, PCs, iOS, and Android devices, I decided to launch Lock 12 Tech LLC in 2019. Running a business while helping people juggle their tech needs is a challenge, but it's one I enjoy. It is my hope that I can assist you with all things tech.
